Recent surveys are showing that fitness perks are top of the list for most desired employee benefits. As more Americans ask for fitness-related benefits, it’s important to make sure that you have the right commercial workout equipment to meet these employees’ exercise goals.
According to the “Principal Financial Well-Being Index: American Workers” survey, onsite fitness facilities are the most desired wellness benefit. In 2012, 25 percent of U.S. workers who did not have access to onsite fitness facilities said they wanted it, compared to 19 percent in 2011.
Currently, there are few companies that have onsite gyms, with only 12 percent of workers participating in the 2012 survey reporting that their employers offer this wellness benefit. However, some of the best companies to work for in the United States, as ranked by Business Insider, do: Cisco Systems, Hershey Foods Corp. and Chesapeake Energy, to name a few. According to the American Workers Survey, 23 percent of respondents said they would like to have discounted fitness center memberships. Currently, only 19 percent do. However, corporate wellness programs are gaining popularity, and this presents a unique opportunity for health clubs to market their services to businesses as well as individuals. Studies show that employees who exercise are more productive at work, in addition to being happier and healthier overall.

Machines with pre-set and custom programs, smooth movement and durability are essential components of any fitness facility catering to the corporate crowd.
