The reason we chose to work with TRUE is because TRUE from the beginning felt like a member of the St. Edward’s family. For us, it’s very important to have a good tight-knit community that works well together, that can have some fun and throughout the entire process, TRUE feels like they’ve gone above and beyond to make sure that we’re ready to provide this great experience for our students
Founded in 1885, St. Edward’s University is a private university located in Austin, Texas. With an undergraduate enrollment of close to 4,000, St. Edward’s boasts a beautiful urban campus situated amongst 160 acres.
St. Edward's chose to expand their fitness spaces to meet the health and wellness needs of their students. The 12,400 square foot addition was built to accommodate innovative fitness and recreation opportunities. St. Edward’s new fitness facilities include: a fitness studio, strength and conditioning area, and a wellness center with a connection to the center of campus.
TRUE assisted with a range of activities to support the renovation including helping create a temporary weight room, which was set up in the Alumni Gym. In addition, TRUE created the facility planning complete with 3D mockups and drawings, installation, and setting up the facility for success with staff training.
Through careful facility planning, TRUE was able to accommodate by helping St. Edward’s plan the future of the facility, while also designing temporary and functional spaces for the St. Edward’s community to utilize their fitness equipment.
We put TRUE head-to-head against other leading fitness equipment providers in the country. Not only did TRUE stand out from the competitors, but the strong relationship we developed with Derek and others was absolutely the reason we chose to become an exclusively TRUE facility. TRUE went above and beyond to make our entire experience as easy as possible in so many ways. They offered solutions to our temporary weight room needs by delivering part of our order early, designed a floor plan in the main weight room that exceeded expectations, did an outstanding job presenting their products to our students and responded almost immediately to our changing needs all along the way. We couldn’t be happier with the final product and look forward to a long relationship with the team at TRUE
Part of the TRUE experience is ensuring clubs and facilities are set up for success in owning and maintaining their TRUE equipment. Our Training Education Manager, Randy Leopando, conducted training sessions with St. Edward’s RecWell staff to provide in-depth knowledge on how to operate each piece of TRUE equipment. He also taught users how to workout on the Atlas HD, which in turn allowed St. Edward’s to run their own Atlas HD group training classes.
St. Edward’s installed a variety of TRUE equipment ranging from treadmills to ellipticals, as well as the Palisade Climber. St. Edward’s appreciated the compact footprint, allowing the optimal mix of equipment to be installed.
St. Edward’s University installed a range of premium TRUE strength equipment to meet the demands of its fitness facility. St. Edward’s selected our newest selectorized strength equipment, the Palladium Series, and chose to have the shrouds customized with their mascot. In addition, St. Edward’s added the Composite Strength series to provide a full range of strength offerings.
Our largest Group Training System, The Atlas HD, provided St. Edward’s the opportunity to customize their space. The Atlas HD comes standard with Accessory Rack with Hangers, 5 Flat Trays, 5 Med Ball Rings, Monkey Bars, Step Platform, Dip Station, Dry Erase Board, Rope Rack, and Core Trainer and provides a variety of custom options to work best for their group training classes.
From the beginning, the TRUE team has felt like an extension of our SEU RecWell family. Our sales partner, Derek, provided quick responses and an in-depth tour of the TRUE headquarters in Saint Louis. The team at TRUE has always been more than a vendor providing equipment to us. TRUE provided unsolicited feedback to our new gym setup, helped support renovations, showed up and discussed their equipment with our students during product demos, assisted with converting part of our facility into a functional training space, and created a variety of mock renderings showing equipment layouts to build up excitement amongst the SEU RecWell community. During install, Derek was there every step of the way. After we completed the install, having Randy come down and train our staff on the use of the equipment and the best ways to maintain the new equipment has created a much-improved user experience since we opened
