A man in a red shirt uses a weighted prone row machine in a bright gym with large windows and white brick walls. He is gripping the handles and extending his arms while lying face down on the padded bench.

Concurrent upper and lower body pressing motion enables users to burn more calories and strengthen more muscle groups in less workout time.

Enjoy the benefits of traditional weight-bearing exercises like the Push-Press or Thruster while reducing shearing and compressive forces to the ankles, knees, and hips when compared to its free weight equivalent.

A man in a yellow long-sleeve shirt and gray shorts uses a gym machine for leg or glute exercises, while another person does pull-ups in the background. The gym is modern, spacious, and well-lit.

Study Finds TRUE Fitness PLS-1500 Total Body Press Delivers Superior Workload and Muscle Activation Compared to Full Body Barbell Press.

TRUE Fitness commissioned an independent study to evaluate the effectiveness of the Total Body Press compared to a traditional barbell full body press. Conducted by a third-party lab, the study focused on users’ workload output and fast-twitch muscle fiber recruitment in each exercise. Thirty participants—split evenly between experienced and novice users—were assessed.

Olympic lifts, such as the Clean & Jerk and the Snatch, activate fast-twitch muscle fibers to develop speed, power, and total-body awareness. However, due to their technical requirements, these lifts can be challenging to master. The Total Body Press offers similar benefits but with a controlled, fixed movement pattern. It allows users to focus on body awareness without the complexities of free weights.

The study’s findings revealed that experts and novices achieved a higher workload in a single set on the Total Body Press than the full-body barbell press. When included in a one-hour workout, the Total Body Press also increased caloric output and enhanced fast-twitch muscle activation, demonstrating its efficiency and effectiveness for diverse users.
